Freestyle Depot – Grand Opening
July 5th, 2010R.I.P. – The Scooter Resource STORE
July 1st, 2010
After nearly 5 years as the leading online freestyle scooter parts manufacturer and retailer The Scooter Resource Store is closing it’s doors. As of July 1, 2010 The SR Store will no longer be taking orders.
We originally started The SR Store in 2006 with a few dozen T-Shirt sales to help pay for web site upkeep then came the aftermarket performance parts which at the time were unheard of. With the first release of products like the Threadless SR Fork, Inverted Compression System, BUFF Bars and numerous other products from various manufacturers, we always tried to set the bar by carrying the sports best and most innovative products. The Scooter Resource Store has come a long way and its growth is nothing more than a reflection of the growth in our sport! Unfortunately we realized that it would be nearly impossible to have an unbiased community resource if that same resource was linked to a commercial store or company so we are severing the ties. With the growth of the sport and the online scooter community it became apparent that The Scooter Resource needed to become what it was originally created as and always intended to be, an information hub, forum and resource for the entire freestyle scooter community. Whether you are a rider or a company owner, SR is here to get you plugged into the sport and the scene that is driving this movement!
To all of our loyal customers and forum users who helped make The SR Store and this website in general possible, we love you and thank you for the support!
On that note we would also like to thank you for your continued support as we embark on our newest venture. Imagine a freestyle scooter superstore built on the foundation that The SR Store created to continue offering the largest selection of the sports top freestyle scooter brands and products!
Keep checking back for updates as we work our way through this transition to unveil THE NEW STORE!

Nitro Circus & Scooters!
April 21st, 2010

Once upon a time there was a man named Travis Pastrana and a wildly successful video and television series based around Travis, himself, and his adrenaline junkie crew called The Nitro Circus. Constantly seeking bigger, better and (most importantly) unusual stunts it was only a matter of time before they stumbled across the ever-expanding freestyle scooter video collections now littering the internet for eternity. It wasn’t just any scooter video though that caught their eye, in fact it was (and still is) some of the best street footage ever, released by a rider named Matt Mckeen. In January, 2009 Mckeen released his “REviseddd TPC part”. Within one week his video went viral being featured on some of the biggest Skate and BMX sites on the internet. By July of that year Matt found himself filming at Bam Margeras house with the Nitro Circus crew filming for their second season on MTV in which fellow rider Cory Vanlew was also featured. Being the adrenaline junkies that the Nitro crew are they of course wanted to try to ride scooters for themselves which is where PROTO Scooter stepped in to supply the entire crew with custom built PROTO Scooters for the show. Despite the hype within the freestyle community, scooters received minimal air time on the show and mixed reviews, which, to some, was disappointing but to others the taste of mainstream exposure gave them hope for the future.

Six months later, a phone call out of the blue from Nitro Circus requesting MORE scooters for a secret training session on a private portable mega ramp in Southern California would change the history of our sport forever. This time not only did PROTO supply the scooters, they supplied the riders.

In December of 2009 PROTO Owner, Andrew Broussard and Team Rider, Brian Murphy attended their first practice session with the Nitro Circus. That would be Brians only practice with the Nitro Circus due to a broken wrist but Andrew was invited back for periodic training sessions over the course of the next 4 months, the purpose of which was later revealed as the Nitro Circus Live Tour starting in May, 2010 throughout Australia’s five largest cities. This tour not only consisted of Travis Pastrana and the entire Nitro Circus crew alongside some of the other top names in action sports but there was also a spot for one lucky scooter rider to attempt to conquer the first and only Mega Ramp ever to grant access to scooters.

On April 30th, 2010, Andrew Broussard will be boarding a plane to Australia with the rest of the Nitro Circus Live crew to begin a week long rehearsal before the tour kicks off in Brisbane on May 7, 2010. The show itself will be a two and a half hour live performance with some of the best Skate, Bike, Inline and Moto riders in the world not to mention all the insane stunts on one, two and even three man contraptions the likes of which you have never seen, flying through the air all over the Nitro Mega Ramp.

Andrew “BUFF” Broussard will be representing our sport on a level only dreamed about until now. Wish him luck and make this sport proud!
